Laney Handschumacher began dancing at the age of three and started her competitive dance journey at just four years old. Throughout her fourteen years as a competitive dancer, she was incredibly fortunate to experience many opportunities that helped shape her into the dancer and person she is today. One experience that had a particularly strong impact on her was spending two seasons assisting as a Pro Reveler Faculty Assistant with Revel Dance Convention.

Throughout her years in competitive dance, Laney learned invaluable lessons that have shaped her not only as a dancer, but also as a teacher, friend, and individual. She developed a deep understanding of the importance of motivation, a strong work ethic, dedication, perseverance, professionalism, and meaningful connection with others. These are values she strives to instill in every student she teaches, with the hope that they carry those lessons with them far beyond the dance classroom.

Laney is currently a senior at Kent State University pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, with licensure spanning preschool through fifth grade. Much of the knowledge she has gained through her education directly transfers into her work as a dance instructor and greatly influences the way she teaches within the studio classroom.

As an instructor, Laney strongly believes in building dancers from the foundation up. She prioritizes strong technical basics, consistent training, and developing both the physical strength and mental discipline necessary for long-term growth and success. Creating confident and empowered dancers is one of her biggest priorities, and she is passionate about fostering an environment where students feel encouraged to grow both as dancers and as individuals.

Laney has four years of previous experience as a dance instructor, and she could not be more excited to begin her upcoming fifth season teaching while continuing to share her love for dance with the next generation of artists. She is very excited to be joining CoreFlux Dance Hub and can’t wait to see you in class!
